Today has been a very surreal day, as some of you may have seen on my Facebook book page I got a lovely surprise when I went to the library today. Last week when I went with my girls to change their books I took one of my BETRAYAL posters with me (lovingly made by my dad - well in truth he told me my design was crap and he'd do me some proper posters!!) and asked if they could pop it up somewhere. When I went back in today not only had they put the poster up they'd made a display, complete with my fab Amazon reviews and the heading Local Author. Well I made far too much excited noise that was suitable for a library, but it's not every day you see your work displayed like that.
They totally made my day and restored my faith a little, because this is by far the hardest part of the whole "Book" process, writing it is the fun (although sometimes frustrating) bit. Actually going out there and saying "C'mon guys read my book." Or "Have you got a small space where you could put my poster?" Is bloody hard!
I never in a million years thought when I wrote Betrayal that I would actually get it out there and now I have I'm mostly quite proud of my achievement but MAINLY totally scared - pushing the book requires self belief, confidence, being assertive, not things that I'm particularly good at and that whole "author" word I find really uncomfortable. Me an author???
Nah, I'm just a girl who loves to write stories...and I'm just very grateful and very happy that so far you like to read my stories!
