I've been thinking about honeymoon's this week, probably a knock on effect from the fab wedding I was at over the weekend. It kind've got me mulling over my own honeymoon. I had the most amazing wedding and was on cloud nine after marrying the man of my dreams. (sorry - my head is in a total romantic bubble at the moment!) So you'd think I'd be excited about going on honeymoon with my brand new hubby? Well, I might have been if everybody else still wasn't in the party mood. We didn't really want to leave all our family and friends who'd helped to make our day so special. The champagne was still flowing as we boarded our flight.
Still, once we got there it'd be great...well any of you who've read my previous blogs, like when I set myself on fire (FIRESTARTER) or when I spectacularly failed my driving test (DRIVING MISS DOZY) will know that things don't always go to plan for me.
So here's a bit of advice for my fab friends about to embark on their honeymoon...
Rule number one :- Remember your currency and travellers cheques - don't leave them in the travel agents. (This was especially embarrasing as I worked there and had to phone work on my honey moon to get them to transfer money over to the hotel!)
Rule number two :- Take your wedding ring off when you go in the sea/pool. I thought the hubby was joking when he said he'd lost it. We had to buy a new ring when we got home and took it back to the church where we got married to be blessed (I wanted to wear my dress again but the vicar said no!)
Rule number three :- Wear sunscreen as in the words of Baz Lurhmann this is very important! The hubby got so badly burnt his skin blistered and he couldn't lie down properly without sticking to the bed sheet (not ideal on your honeymoon!!)
So yeah, a very memorable honeymoon but not exactly for the right reasons!!
