She finally got her hands on a copy a few weeks ago, she got me to sign it as I did I was tempted to shove it back in my bag and replace it with a Maeve Binchey book...far more suitable for my nan!! So I wouldn't say I've avoided her the last week or so but I certainly haven't beem the dutiful grand daughter that I normally am!
So we popped round to see my nan & grandad (it's their 51st wedding anniversary - how fab is that!!) and there on the coffee table, with a bookmark sticking out about three quarters of the way through was BETRAYAL. It's lovely glossy cover almost had the effect on me like Kryptonite has on Superman...ok maybe that's a bit of an over reaction, I didn't lose ALL my powers, but I deffo got butterflies in my stomach! Sensing my nervousness and because he knows me so well, my lovely hubby picked up the book and said "I know this author, she's great." My nan winked at me and said "She is..." then she said something that probably only a a nan could say "...she's a bit saucy!" LOVE IT!! Infact, would love to put that comment on the back of my book! So it was all good then, she was enjoying it. She'd suspected totally the wrong person for the killer (love it when that happens), she liked all the plot twists and she told me she kept missing all her fave TV shows cos she was going to bed early to read the book and last night she was still up at 2am reading! She said she can't wait for Love Overboard (Which is about 4 chapters away from THE END!!)
So I can relax now...BETRAYAL gets my nans approval...although still haven't let my mum read it...watch this space!
