Ok, so I have an idea floating round in my head at the mo, but I needed to do a bit of research...concerning people's fave romantic films. I asked the peeps on my team in work, the general consensus was Love Actually. (I say general...one of the girls hates Hugh Grant and Bing (the guy on our team) picked Ghostbusters....yep prob why he's still single!) Which led to a discussion on what our fave bit of the film was, Andrew Lincoln's love for his best mates wife was the winner (although Bing insisted this was creepy and stalkerish). He may be right, if it was anyone else but Andrew Lincoln playing that part (he always gets me crying in that film!)
Bridget Jones is my friend Helen's fave film (largely because she IS Bridget Jones...seriously I could write a book on her, but it's been done before!) However I totally disagree with her on the whole "Romance" of the film...it is fundamentaly flawed. In one scene where Bridge and Mark are walking through London at night, they have a row, she storms off and he LETS her walk off into the NIGHT!! Now I don't care who you are, that aint romantic...ANYTHING could've happened to her...has he not seen THE BILL? Crime rate is through the roof!.
I have a huge list of personal fave romantic films ... mainly anything that makes me cry, which includes, The Lake House, The Proposal, 10 things I hate about you, The Holiday, Top Gun! The Notebook, (Hmmmm seems a bit of a theme here..anything starting with The seems to be a winner!) Don't think I can pick a fave and have probably missed loads out...oooh Jerry Maguire!!
Asked hubby what his fave romantic film was. He replied straight away "Ghost" because "It's touching and emotional" (Ah bless love him loads!) Although he'd probably prefer to watch Spooks.
So that leads me to this question...What is the ULTIMATE romantic film? Tell me yours!
