I was mildly excited...ok that's a blatant fib to begin with...I was VERY excited last week when I discovered one of my favourite series of books from my teenage years was making a comeback. Forget Twilight. Forget Harry Potter. Sweet Valley High is BACK!!!! Although, it's not so much about High School now...our favourite twins (No...NOT Jedward!!) Jessica and Elizabeth Wakefield are returning to our book shelves next March, ten years older. Elizabeth (the quiet twin) is now in New York and Jessica (the wild one) is still in Sweet Valley.
I found the first chapter on line and I CANNOT Wait till the book is released. Elizabeth is in New York and ignoring calls from Jessica (some Evil plot is indicated...but this is only chapter one so all will not be revealed straight away!) BIGGEST SHOCK...Elizabeth had just slept with her boss!!! Elizabeth the eternal virgin!! What happened to Todd Wilkins star of the basketball team??? Oooh I can't wait.
I loved these books growing up. I couldn't read them quick enough and was at the library at least once a week stocking up on my next supply. I have a box full of them upstairs that I saved in case I had daughters when I "grew up"...sure it wont be long before my eldest daughter reads her first Sweet Valley book (I'm sure I've got some Sweet Valley Twins books too...they were the ones aimed at younger children)
I signed up for the newsletter after reading the first chapter and today got an email showing the front cover of the book. Which I'm sharing with you! I'm sure if any of my old school friends are reading this they might be just as excited as I am!!
